Lenovo unveiled the Moto Z, Moto Z Force, and Moto Z Play as its first modular smartphones earlier this year. Today, at an event in India, Lenovo has launched the Moto Z

and

Moto Z Play in the country.

The Moto Z and Moto Z Play sport high-powered magnets at the rear, which allow you to attach various accessories like the Moto Insta-Share Projector, Hasselblad camera mod, JBL SoundBoost, Moto Shells, instant Power Pack, and several back covers.

The Moto Z is the company’s first smartphone to ditch a headphone jack in favour of transmitting audio via the USB Type-C port. However, the Moto Z Play retains the 3.5mm headphone port. The Moto Z is also one of the slimmest smartphones in the world featuring a 5.19mm frame. The Moto Z and Moto Z Play both get fingerprint sensor embedded into their home buttons, Android Marshmallow with Moto software enhancements, and water-repellent coatings.

Coming to the features, the Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch (13.97cm) 2K AMOLED display, protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, mated to 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 graphics. It features a 13MP primary camera with laser autofocus, a dual-tone LED flash, optical image stabilisation and f/1.8 aperture. In the front, the phone houses a 5MP shooter with a wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.

In terms of connectivity, the Moto Z offers 4G LTE, a single-SIM slot, a USB Type-C port, dual-band Wi-Fi and NFC. A 2,600mAh battery keeps the phone running, which as per the brand delivers up to 30 hours of regular usage. It supports TurboPower fast charging, which allows it to offer eight hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. The device comes with 64GB of storage, and can also accept microSD cards up to 2TB in size.
