“The Galaxy S8 series is expected to sport narrow bezels, curved display, and ditch home button”
Earlier this week, alleged Samsung Galaxy S8’s Ghostek shock-resistant cases went on sale, which gave us a glimpse at the design of the upcoming flagship. Now, the industrial designer Chris has made a render of the Galaxy S8 based on the design suggested by the cases. In addition, a couple of transparent Olixar Ultra cases for the Galaxy S8 edge have also gone on sale on mobilefun.co.uk.
The render suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will sport narrow bezels on top and bottom of the screen
The phone will feature a dual-curved display, a fingerprint sensor, and a metal and glass sandwich design. There’s no physical home button on the phone in the render, which suggests that the fingerprint sensor of the device could be placed below the screen.
The transparent Olixar Ultra cases of the Galaxy S8 edge (rumoured to be christened the Galaxy S8 Plus) reveal a design similar to the one seen in the latest render. The standard 3.5mm headphone jack seems to be missing in these images. It’s worth mentioning that the phone pictured in these leaks could be close to the real device, but not 100 percent accurate.
In related news, Korean media is suggesting that Samsung has finalised the design of the Galaxy S8 and its bigger variant, the Galaxy S8 Plus. Some reports also suggest that the Galaxy S8 will sport a single camera only, as the brand has reserved the dual-camera for the S8 Plus. Another report suggests that the Samsung will unveil its new flagships on April 21st, not on April 18th as rumoured earlier.
